Dr. Aomawa Shields has a PhD in Astronomy and space biology from the University of Washington, an MFA in Acting from UCLA, and a Bachelors mark in Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences from MIT.\n\nShe is shortly an NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellow, a UC professorships Postdoctoral Program Fellow, and a 2015 TED Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the Harvard-Smithsonian heart for Astrophysics.\n\nDr. Shields founded Rising Stargirls, an organization that teaches astronomy to young girls of color victimization non-conventional methods such as theater, writing, and opthalmic art.
